Building a Website

Building a Website: A Work in Progress NOT Perfection (and a Little Bit of Crazy AI Along the Way)

When I first set out to build our farm’s website, I thought it would be a quick project—pick a template, drop in some photos, add products, and we’d be up and running in no time. Well… not exactly.

What I’ve discovered is that building a website (especially one that represents everything we do on the farm) is much more complex and time-consuming than I anticipated. Every button, menu, and product page takes more tweaking than I could have imagined. It’s a true “work in progress,” and I’ll be refining things over the next week to get it where it needs to be.

To give myself a break from the tech side, I played around with AI to generate some “farm-themed” images. And this is what it gave me:

AI Generated Image - asking for 'Goat Yoga on a Farm'
AI Generated Image - asking for 'Goat Yoga on a Farm'

Yes, that is a woman riding a goat while a baby goat is standing proudly on the bigger goat’s back. Not exactly the vision I had in mind for our farm branding, but I had to laugh at the absurdity. Sometimes technology makes things easier, and other times it just adds to the craziness.

So, if you stumble on our site this week and see things shifting, changing, or not quite fitting together perfectly, just know: it’s all part of the process. Websites, like farms, don’t just spring up overnight—they take time, patience, and more energy than you expect.

Thanks for following along while I figure it all out. The end result will be worth it, even if the road there looks a little like someone riding a goat into the sunset.
