Thinking About Adopting a Baby Goat?

At Holmesteading Farms, we proudly raise and breed registered ADGA Nigerian Dwarf goats. We maintain high standards for herd health, nutrition, and biosecurity, and we look for homes that are educated, prepared, and committed to providing excellent care.

If you’d like to join our Adoption Waitlist for a future kid, please complete the form below. Families on our waitlist will be contacted by email as babies begin arriving between April and July 2026. When a kid becomes available, you’ll be notified and given a set timeframe to make your decision before we move to the next family on the list.

Goats are herd animals and thrive with companionship. If these will be your first goats, we require that you adopt a minimum of two so they have proper social interaction and support.

If you already have goats, we may ask you to share details about your current herd (number, breed, age, and housing setup) and how this new addition fits into your goals. This helps ensure a smooth transition and the best possible outcome for both your existing goats and the new kid.

Our priority is placing each goat in a safe, well-prepared, and thoughtfully planned home.

Approximately 95% of our kids remain dam-raised and nurse until weaning at 8–12 weeks of age. Bottle babies may occasionally be available; however, early placement before weaning is rare and only considered when specific criteria are met. In general, most kids remain at the farm until 8–12 weeks old, when they are fully ready to transition to their new homes.

Because selections move quickly once kids are offered, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to officially reserve a goat.

Please review our general pricing below. All kids are handled daily and raised in a healthy, attentive farm environment.  All adopted goat kids will have received their CDT vaccinations, coccidiosis prevention, and include continued support and guidance to help you feel confident as you begin your goat journey.
